07/09/2025, 16:54The Kyrgyz Republic is preparing to present its Second National Voluntary Review (NVR) at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLF-2025), which will take place from July 14 to 23 in New York.
The document reflects the country's progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda and covers 16 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the exception of Goal 14, which is not relevant to the Kyrgyz Republic. State authorities, representatives of civil society, business, academia, and international organizations participated in the preparation of the review.
Key achievements include a reduction in extreme poverty, the implementation of large-scale social programs, the introduction of digital solutions in governance, and the intensification of climate initiatives. Education and health care remain accessible and free, with efforts focused on improving quality of life, developing human capital, and expanding equal opportunities.
Kyrgyzstan emphasizes its commitment to the principle of “leaving no one behind.” The review also identifies challenges, including social and territorial inequality, climate risks, external crises, and limited resources.
The country has identified the development of the digital economy, regional sustainability, institutional strengthening, and expanded international cooperation as priorities for further reform. The presentation of the NDS will confirm Kyrgyzstan's political will to achieve the SDGs and strengthen global partnerships.
