Kyrgyzstan presented two strategic projects in Beijing

The 12th World Congress on High-Speed Railways kicked off in Beijing, where Kyrgyzstan presented key infrastructure initiatives. Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobayev identified the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan (CSU) railway as a strategic transport project that has already entered the implementation phase. The total length of the section in Kyrgyzstan is more than 304 kilometers, and the investment volume is $4.7 billion.

The key hub will be the Makmal transshipment station, around which logistics and customs infrastructure will be created.

The new route will open the shortest railway link between East and West, improving access to European and Middle Eastern markets. Torobayev paid special attention to the promotion of the Bedel transport corridor project connecting Kyrgyzstan with China.

Temporary checkpoints have already been opened, and the next stages will be the construction of the Barskooon-Uch-Tufan-Aksu highway and discussions on the Aksu-Bedel-Balyky railway line. The projects are designed not only to improve logistics but also to strengthen trade ties—trade turnover between the countries has already reached $23 billion, increasing eightfold in recent years.
