Kyrgyzstan Participates in EAPS Meeting: New Steps Agreed for Strategy-2025 and Digital Trade Development

On 11 December 2025, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held in Moscow, where key areas of economic integration within the EAEU were discussed. Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Sultan Akhmatov represented Kyrgyzstan at the council meeting.

The main focus was on the implementation of the union's strategic documents, including Strategy-2025 and the EAEU's development plans for 2030 and 2045. A comprehensive report on the progress of Strategy-2025 is planned to be presented to the heads of state in May 2026.

The participants paid special attention to the development of external and mutual e-commerce within the EAEU. It was emphasised that in order to speed up the processes, it is necessary to promptly approve regulatory acts governing e-commerce. Following the meeting, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council gave the relevant instructions to the relevant authorities.

The parties also agreed on key approaches to developing a product labelling system in the EAEU. It is aimed at increasing market transparency, protecting the rights of consumers and producers, and simplifying control in the field of technical regulation.

The decisions taken are expected to simplify trade procedures and create additional opportunities for the growth of the Kyrgyz economy and the competitiveness of local producers.
