Kyrgyzstan has increased its dairy exports by almost 17% since the start of the year

Between January and April 2026, Kyrgyzstan exported 11,800 tonnes of dairy products. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of exports increased by 1,688.2 tonnes, or 16.7%.

This growth was mainly driven by increased demand for certain types of products. For instance, exports of fermented milk products, including kurut and kymyz, rose from 3.6 to 116.5 tonnes. The volume of whey exports reached 164 tonnes.

In addition, Kyrgyzstan has begun to supply new types of products to foreign markets more actively. In particular, exports of skimmed goat’s milk powder amounted to 17.6 tonnes, milk shakes to 2.2 tonnes, and cream to 1.6 tonnes.

At the same time, a decline has been recorded for a number of traditional items. Compared to last year, export volumes of butter, milk powder, cheese and ice cream have fallen.

Despite this, the dairy sector continues to show positive growth. The expansion of the range of exported products and the launch of new goods on foreign markets continue to support the sector’s development.
