10/20/2025, 14:13President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a law ratifying International Labor Organization Convention No. 181, which regulates the activities of private employment agencies. The document was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on September 25, 2025.
The convention, approved in Geneva back in 1997, is considered one of the key international acts in the field of labor relations. It sets standards for the work of private employment agencies — from respecting workers' rights to protecting against discrimination and ensuring safe working conditions.
There are many private agencies in Kyrgyzstan that are engaged in the employment of citizens abroad. Accession to the Convention is intended to regulate the activities of such companies and increase the level of protection for Kyrgyz citizens who go to work in other countries.
