09/01/2025, 10:56In Kyrgyzstan, large-scale illegal activities involving the import and sale of dangerous cosmetic products have been stopped. The police arrested several people, including a doctor from a private clinic, after numerous complaints from citizens about the consequences of operations.
The investigation was prompted by information that injectable drugs and other products were being sold illegally through closed channels on the Telegram messenger app. These products were smuggled into the country without paying taxes and without any control from the Ministry of Health.
On August 20, police conducted searches at more than 12 addresses. During the operation, large quantities of uncertified cosmetic products were found and seized. Underground clinics that provided services without the necessary licenses were also shut down. Six female suspects were detained.
On August 29, searches were conducted at a plastic surgery clinic in Bishkek. Large quantities of dangerous drugs were also found and seized there. Numerous complaints had been received from patients who had suffered after undergoing operations at this clinic. This citizen was also detained.
All those detained were placed in a temporary detention center, and the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. The measures are aimed at protecting the health and safety of citizens, as well as cleansing the market of illegal products.
