12/04/2025, 11:47The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is holding the ‘Korea-Central Asia Economic Cooperation Platform 2025’ in Bishkek.
The event is designed as a platform where small and medium-sized businesses can access new markets and partners without unnecessary barriers. Entrepreneurs are promised not only access to sales channels, but also clear explanations of how certification, logistics and joint project launch requirements work. All this is aimed at strengthening the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Korea and giving companies more real opportunities for growth.
The programme is scheduled to last two days. First, there will be a business forum where participants will be able to hear each other out and identify their interests. Then, individual negotiations will begin: Korean suppliers will meet with potential buyers and relevant organisations from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The programme will conclude with a fair and exhibition of Korean consumer goods.
Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency Damirbek Bikulov noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Korea have been developing on the basis of trust and support for many years.
"Kyrgyz-Korean cooperation demonstrates stable and positive dynamics. Significant progress has been made in recent years. Over the past five years, investments from Korean partners have grown more than threefold," he emphasised.
He also noted that the KGS-Central Asia summit is expected to take place in 2026 and that this event will be an important platform for discussing strategic partnership and cooperation in the region.
