The project was implemented with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and has made a significant contribution to the country's energy independence.
The Ysyk-Ata-2 small hydroelectric power plant, built with financial support from the RCF, demonstrates high and stable performance. The total capacity of the plant is 4 MW, and the annual volume of electricity generated reaches 27 million kWh, which is already being supplied to the national electricity grid.
During his working visit, Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Board of the RCF, familiarised himself with the operation of the facility and noted that the project is being successfully implemented as part of the strategy to strengthen Kyrgyzstan's energy sovereignty.
‘The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund systematically supports the energy sector, contributing to the implementation of the National Development Programme until 2030,’ Novikov emphasised.
Construction of the station began in August last year and was completed within a year. Funding for the project in the amount of $409,000 was provided through the partner O!Bank in October 2024.
In the first four months of 2026, the Ysyk-Ata-2 hydroelectric power plant generated over 14 million kWh, providing a stable power supply to the Ysyk-Ata district and surrounding areas.
