06/08/2026, 14:04Bishkek City Council has submitted a draft resolution entitled ‘On the Approval of the Additional Service Fee for the Reservation of Burial Plots in Bishkek’s Municipal Cemeteries’ to the Bishkek City Council for consideration. The draft proposes setting the cost of reserving a plot at 150,647 KGS.
According to the document, the total amount consists of a base cost of 100,000 KGS(1,000 settlement indicators) and an additional service coefficient of 50,647 KGS. The final total amounts to 150,647 KGS.
As noted in the explanatory report, the additional funds will be used for site improvement, including pathways, fencing and lighting, landscaping, water supply, waste removal and sanitary maintenance, as well as upkeep of the burial plot for 10 years.
The Bishkek City authorities clarified that reserving a burial plot is voluntary and is available only to spouses for burial next to a previously deceased husband or wife, subject to supporting documents.
For other citizens, burial procedures remain unchanged and are regulated under the current legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. The measure is implemented in accordance with the Law “On Burial and Funeral Affairs” and the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 19, 2025.
