The city administration is considering switching Bishkek residents to rail transport

The Bishkek City Hall is considering new approaches to organizing passenger transport, including the use of rail transport within the capital. This issue was the key topic of a working meeting at the Bishkek City Hall.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev and attended by representatives of the Department of Transport, the municipal enterprise “Digital Technology Center,” the Passenger Transport Department of the state-owned enterprise “Kyrgyz Temir Zholu,” and the enterprise “Tulpar.”

The meeting participants focused on the possibilities of using the railway infrastructure as an alternative and affordable means of transportation for city residents. It was noted that the development of urban railway routes could reduce the load on roads and increase the efficiency of the transport system.

During the discussion, proposals were also made to launch new bus routes that would provide convenient transfers for passengers from bus stations and railway stations to different areas of the city. This format involves the comprehensive integration of the railway with the existing public transport system.

In addition, the parties considered issues of digital transport support, including the introduction of GPS monitoring of train movements and the display of real-time railway and urban transport schedules in the My City mobile application.
