The Ministry of Labour and the UN World Food Programme have provided support to more than 3,600 low-income families

Since the start of 2026, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the UN World Food Programme, has implemented 127 projects to support low-income families. Assistance was provided to 3,643 families, or 18,285 people.

As part of the programme, families were provided with over 1,151 tonnes of food aid, including flour and vegetable oil. In addition, project participants received cash payments under the ‘Food/Cash for Community Service or Training’ scheme.

The Ministry of Labour also implemented 36 emergency support projects for the most vulnerable sections of the population in selected cities across the country. These projects involved 1,320 low-income families, or 4,782 people.

The total amount of cash payments under these projects amounted to 19.1 million soms.

The ministry noted that the programme is aimed at supporting families facing difficult life circumstances, developing public infrastructure and creating opportunities to increase the incomes of low-income citizens.
