02/08/2026, 16:49In 2025, the official unemployment rate fell to 1.4%. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchybek Dosmatov at a meeting of the Ministry of Labor, where the results of the implementation of state programs were summarized.
In 2025, the situation on the labor market remained stable and improved significantly compared to previous years. According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, the official unemployment rate was 1.4%, which is almost half the rate in 2021–2023 and significantly lower than in 2024.
Today, 56,500 people are registered with employment services, which is 20% less than a year earlier. At the same time, 38,100 citizens have official unemployed status, which is 22% lower than in 2024. According to representatives of the ministry, these figures confirm the effectiveness of existing employment programs.
During the reporting period, 17,500 people were successfully employed. Another 19,800 citizens participated in active labor market programs, ranging from retraining to temporary employment.
The Ministry of Labor placed a special emphasis on the “Internship for Youth” project. The program, implemented in 2024-2025, covered 30 pilot regions and cities and was aimed at supporting young professionals with monthly salary payments. A total of about 3,000 young people participated in the project.
In 2025 alone, 1,851 people completed internships, of whom 1,332 were employed. Today, graduates of the program work in both public and private organizations, ranging from cashiers and nurses to engineers, economists, auto electricians, and design assistants.
