07/15/2025, 18:00The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration reminds you about the guaranteed severance pay when you leave your job, as set out in the Labour Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In the event of termination of an employment contract due to the liquidation of an organisation, staff reductions or reorganisation, the employee shall be paid severance pay in an amount not less than two average monthly salaries in accordance with Article 47 of the Labour Code. Provided that the employee registers with the state employment service within 10 days of dismissal, the average monthly wage shall continue to be paid for the second and third months. Employment assistance departments are located in the district offices of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
If, after a period of three months, the dismissed employee is not offered suitable work or refuses two job offers, he or she acquires the status of unemployed.
Severance pay equal to one average monthly salary is provided in the following cases: refusal of transfer due to the employer's relocation; dismissal on medical grounds; conscription into military service or transfer of spouse(s) to another locality; reinstatement of an unlawfully dismissed employee.
The employment contract or collective agreement may provide for other cases of severance pay and higher amounts of severance pay.
