Phytosanitary control points are back in operation on the border with Tajikistan

On July 8, 2025, as part of President Sadyr Zhaparov's visit to Tajikistan, the Karamyk and Bordobo phytosanitary control points in the Osh region resumed operations. These checkpoints complement the Kairacha and Kyzyl-Bel checkpoints, which have been operating since spring, bringing the total number of checkpoints between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to five.

The return to full operation of Karamyk and Bordobo should speed up cargo processing, simplify export and import procedures, and strengthen control over the safety of agricultural products.

This is especially important for protection against quarantine pests and plant diseases.
