Construction of a leisure complex at Issyk-Kul has been suspended due to breaches of town planning regulations

The Regional Office for the Issyk-Kul Region of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control has identified breaches during the construction of the Family Resort leisure complex.

An unscheduled inspection was carried out on the instructions of the Bishkek Environmental Prosecutor’s Office.

The inspectors found that additional attic floors had been built in six blocks of the development without any amendments to the approved project documentation and without obtaining the necessary permits. According to the department, this constitutes a breach of the requirements of the Law ‘On Urban Planning and Architecture’.

Following the inspection, a report was drawn up against the contractor, Bekem Stroy LLC; an order was issued to rectify the identified breaches; and an administrative fine of 200,000 KGS was imposed.

Furthermore, a decision has been taken to suspend all construction and installation works until the violations have been fully rectified and the property brought into compliance with the requirements of the law.
