05/12/2026, 11:23Work has begun on installing new electric vehicle charging stations in the Issyk-Kul region. The project is being implemented by Chakan HPP OJSC as part of efforts to develop green energy and eco-friendly transport in Kyrgyzstan.
Work is currently underway in the village of Bokonbaevo, where a site is being prepared at the junction of Mambetova and Proektirovannaya streets for the installation of three electric vehicle charging stations. At the same time, the company is processing the necessary permits to expand the EV charging network across the entire region.
A total of 20 new electric vehicle charging stations are planned for the Issyk-Kul region. They will be installed in Balykchy, Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, as well as in the villages of Bosteri, Tyup and Kyzyl-Suu.
The project is being implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and is aimed at developing modern transport infrastructure and supporting electric vehicles. Chakan HPP noted that the company had already installed 10 electric charging stations in 2025. These were installed in Bishkek, the Kemin district along the Bishkek–Torugart road, and in Kara-Kul in the Jalal-Abad region.
