At the new Osh market, stall rental fees could be reduced by up to 50%

The Mayor of Osh, Zhanarbek Akayev, met with traders at the central market and listened to their concerns. During the meeting, issues were raised regarding high rental charges for trading stalls, a lack of public transport routes, and the need to construct additional alternative access roads to the market.

The mayor resolved some of the issues on the spot and gave specific instructions to the heads of the relevant departments. The issue of reducing rent will be considered at a meeting of the city council, where it is planned to propose a reduction in rent of up to 50%.

In addition, it is reported that, as part of the project to widen Osmonova Street, work on laying asphalt will begin on 20 April.

During the meeting, traders also proposed holding an official opening ceremony for the market. The mayor supported the initiative and noted that the city council would provide the necessary organisational assistance.

Around 30 trading stalls from various parts of the city have been relocated to the new Osh municipal market.
