05/15/2025, 15:19The Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, was on a working visit to Tashkent. During the visit, the minister took part in a number of events.
First, the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, took part in an exhibition forum entitled ‘International Energy Week in Uzbekistan’ in Tashkent.
During the forum, participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the products and equipment of Chinese and European companies aimed at improving the entire energy system of Kyrgyzstan, from production to distribution and consumption. Modern mechanisms for tracking sunlight for solar panels, efficient smart electricity meters, and cables necessary for reliable electricity distribution were presented.
A meeting was also held between the heads of water management and energy departments, attended by Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan and Minister of Water Management of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, issues related to the supply and transit of electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2025 from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed, as well as ensuring the population with the necessary amount of electricity in the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026.
The parties discussed the current state and plans for further cooperation in the energy sector, exchanged views on water volumes, rational use of water and energy resources, and mutual support in the energy sector between the countries.
Following the meeting, the participants signed a protocol on cooperation in the field of water and energy.
