12/01/2025, 15:29The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan decided to increase its discount rate by 100 basis points, setting it at 11%. This was reported by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).
At the same time, the regulator raised rates on overnight operations: deposit rates to 5% and lending rates to 13%.
According to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, tightening the parameters of the interbank credit market will create additional conditions for containing inflationary pressure and returning inflation to the target range of 5-7%.
The decision is aimed at strengthening price stability and cooling excess liquidity in the financial system.
