    What Sadyr Zhaparov talked about with the head of China's State Council

    President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang today, 5 February, as part of his state visit to the People's Republic of China.

    The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, prospects of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, infrastructure, transport and high technology. Special attention was paid to strengthening partnership in digitalisation, renewable energy and joint projects in the industrial sector.

    Premier of the State Council Li Qiang noted that China highly values the strategic partnership with Kyrgyzstan and is ready to further expand mutually beneficial co-operation. He emphasised the importance of joint infrastructure and investment projects, and expressed support for the development of transport communication between the countries.

    Li Qiang also noted that the Kyrgyz President's visit coincided with the Spring Festival, emphasising that spring is a crucial time of the year when nature awakens and a new cycle of life begins. He called it a symbol of renewal and new prospects for Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, expressing confidence in further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

    For his part, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted China's impressive achievements in recent decades, which have made the country a symbol of rapid growth, technological progress and general prosperity. He expressed confidence that the policy of reform and openness pursued under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and the One Belt, One Road initiative open up new opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.

    Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan's national development programme is in harmony with the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative, creating broad prospects for trade growth, infrastructure development and investment attraction.

    ‘Over the past few years, we have significantly intensified our bilateral cooperation. This is confirmed by the mutual visits at the highest and highest levels, the launch of the beginning of construction of a grandiose project - the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the opening of the third Bedel border crossing point, and the unprecedented growth in the volume of mutual trade. A number of joint projects with good prospects for economic co-operation have been successfully launched,’ the President of Kyrgyzstan said with satisfaction.

    At the end of the talks, the parties expressed confidence in further strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
