07/15/2026, 12:53According to figures for January–March 2026, the value of goods shipped by Kyrgyz enterprises under barter agreements amounted to 41.7 million KGS. These figures were provided by the National Statistical Committee.
The entire volume of barter transactions took place on the domestic market. No barter transactions were carried out with CIS or non-CIS countries during the reporting period.
The majority of barter transactions took place in the mineral extraction sector. Enterprises engaged in the extraction of crude oil and natural gas shipped products worth 39.6 million KGS via barter, accounting for almost 95 per cent of the total volume.
In the wholesale and retail trade sector, the volume of barter transactions amounted to 1.53 million KGS, with wholesale trade accounting for virtually the entire volume.
A further 630,000 KGS were accounted for by professional, scientific and technical activities, in particular legal and accounting services.
Thus, despite the growth in cash payments, barter transactions continue to be used by certain enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, predominantly in domestic transactions.
