06/12/2025, 09:46E-commerce is now an integral part of Kyrgyzstan's economic strategy. In 2024 alone, the domestic e-commerce market was worth $359.2 million. This was announced by Mars Zhylidzhev, representative of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in his speech at the World Bank's regional conference Elevate Global Access Through E-Commerce (E-GATE) in Central Asia.
The event was the final stage of a series of conferences previously held in Dushanbe and Tashkent, bringing together participants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—representatives of government agencies, international organizations, business associations, digital platforms, and the business community.
“In 2024, the domestic e-commerce market was worth $359.2 million, up 14.3% from the previous year. By 2028, this figure could reach $600 million. This highlights the potential of the digital economy,” said Mars Zhyldyzev.
It should be noted that the E-GATE program aims to expand access for small and medium-sized enterprises to global markets through the development of e-commerce, improved export logistics, digital infrastructure, and the regulatory framework.
Dozens of companies from Kyrgyzstan are actively participating in the program. For example, 26 small and medium-sized enterprises in the republic have gained access to the international platform Alibaba.com. In addition, within the framework of the project, Kyrgyz companies have concluded or are negotiating export deals worth over $1 million.
