05/15/2025, 14:45A regular inspection was conducted at the Osh Bazary shopping and entertainment complex to assess improvements and the implementation of instructions issued by Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev in accordance with the approved plan to bring the market into compliance with sanitary and fire safety standards.
Street vendors are operating on sidewalks intended for pedestrians, using wheelbarrows, umbrellas, tables, chairs and other items for sale.
Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Ramiz Aliyev informed residents about the clearing of the sidewalk and the introduction of legal activities.
Earlier, street vendors engaged in unauthorised activities requested that they be given one month to voluntarily cease trading and vacate the area. Two months have passed since this promise was made, and no changes have been made.
Today, a second warning was issued about the need to stop illegal trading within three calendar days. If the requirements are not met by the deadline, measures will be taken, including the seizure of goods for sale and the drawing up of reports in accordance with the Kyrgyz Republic's Code of Offences.
An information kiosk on employment in municipal services, indicating salaries, continues to operate on Toktogul and Beishenalieva streets.
This kiosk will allow citizens engaged in illegal activities, as well as other interested persons, to find out about job vacancies in the Bishkek City Hall.
Illegal street trading violates sanitary standards, creates obstacles for pedestrians and vehicles, and poses a threat to public health.
Work to eliminate illegal street trading will continue as planned.
