The head of the capital made a welcoming speech and kicked off the launch of fountain groups, and an epic fireworks show was organized. The event continued with a concert program featuring pop stars.
As part of the overhaul of the square, new fountains were designed, including five waterfalls. The old stone slabs were replaced and the red granite of the stairs was reconstructed: it was divided and levelled to a thickness of 5 cm. For today 16 thousand 459.59 m² of granite slabs have been laid.
For the first time in Kyrgyzstan dancing and fire fountains have appeared, with jet height reaching up to 21 meters. Convenient ramps with lights for low-mobility groups were also installed, making the square more accessible to all citizens.
In addition, a new 100-meter flagpole and a flag brought from Turkey were installed.
Bishkek City Hall expresses gratitude to Tabyldy uul Zhakshylyk and Sharshenbek uul Akzhol, who didn't fear the heights and installed the flagpole at a 100-meter height.
We remind you that Ala-Too Square was built in 1984 in honour of the 60th anniversary of the Kyrgyz SSR. It is symbolic that 40 years later the reconstruction of the square was timed to the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast. The construction works were fulfilled by the Etalon Vin Spets Stroy LLP contracting organization.
