12/02/2024, 18:20In Batken, Chui, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas and Issyk-Kul oblasts of the republic, sowing of winter wheat and barley is underway. Sowing of winter wheat on the area of 190 thousand hectares was also envisaged for the harvest of 2025.
By the end of November, 132.8 thousand hectares were sown, which is 70% of the planned volume. In Chui oblast 79.3 thousand hectares were sown, in Issyk-Kul oblast - 9 thousand hectares, in Jalal-Abad oblast - 14 thousand hectares, in Batken oblast - 6 thousand hectares, in Talas oblast - 10 thousand hectares and in Osh oblast - 19 thousand hectares. The works have been carried out on the territory by 9 thousand hectares more compared to the same period of 2023. Especially high rate is observed in Osh and Chui oblasts.
On sowing of winter barley for the harvest of 2025 from the planned 11.4 thousand hectares sown on 8.9 thousand hectares, which is 78.1%. This is 2.9 thousand hectares more than in the same period of 2023.
To date, sugar beet harvesting operations are nearing completion. As of 29 November 2024, the crop has been harvested from the area of 13.3 thousand hectares, which is 98.8% of the sown area.
The yield is 669.6 quintals per hectare, which is 196.7 quintals per hectare higher than last year. Gross harvest is 892.4 thousand tonnes, which is 271.4 thousand tonnes more than last year. These figures indicate a high level of production of this crop in 2024.
