Riding across pastures led to a fine: an enduro motorbike owner has been penalised in Kyrgyzstan

A Kyrgyzstan resident has been fined 5,500 KGS for riding an enduro motorbike across pastures and green spaces. The violation was identified following monitoring of social media.

Officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources’ Environmental and Technical Supervision Service discovered a video on Instagram showing a citizen, K. uulu K., riding an enduro motorcycle across pastureland and green areas, damaging the soil cover.

Following an investigation by the regional administration for Bishkek and the Alamudun district, the offender was held administratively liable. He was fined 5,500 KGS.

The department reminded the public that the use of motor vehicles and motorcycles outside designated areas causes damage to the environment, leads to the degradation of pastures and exacerbates soil erosion.

Under Kyrgyz law, fines ranging from 5,500 to 20,000 KGS are imposed for the unlawful damage or destruction of pasture land, depending on the nature of the offence.
