The figures for 2020 and 2025 are like night and day — Bakyt Torobaev

Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic – Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev took part in a meeting of the President's authorised representative in the Batken region, where the results of the region's socio-economic development for 2025 were summarised and priority tasks for the near future were identified.

During the meeting, the implementation of national and regional programmes, the execution of infrastructure and social projects, issues of security, communal sustainability and improving the quality of public services were discussed. Particular attention was paid to attracting investment, digitising public administration and strengthening coordination between central authorities and the regional administration.

Speaking to the participants of the meeting, Bakyt Torobaev noted that 2025 marks five years since Sadyr Zhaparov took office as President of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to him, during this period, significant changes have taken place in the economy and the system of public administration.

‘If we compare the figures for 2020 and 2025, the difference is like night and day,’ he emphasised.

In particular, the country's consolidated budget in 2025 exceeded 1 trillion KGS, while in 2020 it was 247.8 billion KGS.

Growth was also noted in the real sector of the economy — construction, industry, services and agriculture, which have become key drivers of economic development.

Following the meeting, specific instructions were given to the regional administration and relevant ministries. These include accelerating the implementation of strategic programmes, completing unfinished social projects, improving the efficiency of public finance and asset management, modernising infrastructure, and introducing modern monitoring and control tools. Particular emphasis was placed on job creation, attracting investment and improving the quality of life of the region's population.
