    The President met with the Mayor of Bishkek to find out what projects are being implemented in the city

    Today, 25 March, President Sadyr Zhaparov met with Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev.
    The head of state listened to the Mayor's information on topical issues of socio-economic development of the city and achievements in the development of urban infrastructure.

    The Mayor said that in 2024 the city budget reached KGS 36.5 billion, which is 1.7 times higher than in the previous period. Investment agreements totalling over $1 billion have been concluded.

    Aibek Junushaliyev also spoke about infrastructure projects, including the construction of a residential complex with a total investment of $3.1 billion.

    The President was also briefed on the transport strategy of the city. Thus, a comprehensive reconstruction of eight key highways is planned for 2025, reconstruction of the road leading to the Manas airport, the total length of which is 42 kilometres, construction of 4 new roads, including the double of Zhibek Jolu Avenue and three bridge crossings over the Alamedin River.
    It is planned to purchase 250 modern buses of Euro-5 ecological standard. The total budget for transport modernisation is 8.2 billion KGS.

    The issues of modernisation of heat supply and ecology were considered, including construction of a waste processing plant and renovation of sewage systems.

    The Mayor noted that thanks to the support of the President, a large-scale purchase of 1 thousand buses was made, which allowed to completely renew the public transport fleet of the capital. Within the framework of further development of the transport system, it is planned to create 12 new routes, introduce an intelligent traffic control system and build modern interchange hubs.

    In turn, President Sadyr Zhaparov instructed to accelerate the improvement of the coastal zones of the city's rivers and canals, emphasising the importance of creating comfortable recreational spaces for the residents of the capital.

    In addition, he emphasised the need to complete the construction of an eco-technological plant to process solid domestic waste within 2025.

    The President noted the positive trends in the capital and approved a two-year action plan for the Bishkek Mayor's Office. In addition, he gave a number of instructions aimed at further development of the city.

    The head of state also allocated KGS 4.5 billion for the implementation of road projects and KGS 100 million for the development of the waste sorting system.

    At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted the need for strict control over the deadlines for the implementation of all planned activities.
