The document was approved at an interdepartmental meeting held on 24 January in Bishkek.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Natural Resources and other government agencies. The meeting was about the Kristall plant located in Tash-Kumyr, which started producing polycrystalline silicon in 1989.
The FEO specialists presented an analytical report describing priority emergency response works aimed at bringing the territory of the plant to a safe condition. The technical audit identified hazardous chemicals, assessed the condition of process vessels and buildings, and calculated the risks of unfavourable events.
‘The Federal Environmental Operator, with its extensive experience in eliminating environmental damage in Russia, is now ready to offer its solutions abroad as well,’ said Stanislav Zhabrikov, Director for Environmental Projects Implementation at FEO.
