07/24/2025, 10:14The State Agency for Transport Registration will stop issuing and replacing old (four-digit) license plates. The restriction will come into force at 00:00 on July 24, 2025.
This means that for any registration—purchase, sale, re-registration, replacement of documents—old license plates must be confiscated and disposed of. Owners of such license plates will need to obtain new ones that comply with the current standard.
The State Agency explained that the innovation is aimed at streamlining the registration process and transitioning to a single national format for license plates.
