09/23/2025, 10:25President Sadyr Zhaparov met with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, now Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change, in New York.
They discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Institute for Global Change.
The President told Tony Blair about Kyrgyzstan's promising national projects.
Particular attention was paid to discussing cooperation in the field of debureaucratisation. The President emphasised that the recommendations on debureaucratisation presented by the Institute for Global Change are currently under consideration.
For his part, Tony Blair thanked Sadyr Zhaparov for the meeting and the meaningful dialogue.
Tony Blair spoke about the activities of the Global Change Institute, which provides advisory support to governments on issues of modernisation of public administration, economic development, digital technologies, education, etc.
«The most difficult thing for governments is to turn words into action. It is important that strategic plans are turned into real changes that people can feel», — Tony Blair noted.
In this context, he highly appreciated the steps taken by the Kyrgyz leadership and stressed that he is closely monitoring the positive changes taking place in the country, as well as the improvement of the public administration system.
Tony Blair expressed his willingness to continue cooperation and share his experience in the areas of debureaucratisation, tourism, investment and banking.
The parties agreed to continue expert dialogue and consider the possibility of launching joint initiatives in the interests of Kyrgyzstan's socio-economic development.
