High-voltage substations in Issyk-Kul region to increase capacity

Issyk-Kul PES is implementing a number of important technical measures to ensure a stable and high-quality supply of electricity in the region.

Transformers have been replaced with more powerful ones at three substations. Transformers will also be replaced at six more substations: Przewalsk, Vostochny, Pokrovka, Zheti-Oguiz, Barskoon and Ulakhol.

These changes will ensure readiness for increased loads and improve the uninterrupted power supply to consumers. The work is scheduled to be completed in October this year. This will increase the capacity of the substations by 56.5 MVA.

In addition, at the Achikeev substation, outdated oil circuit breakers manufactured in 1989 have been replaced with modern vacuum circuit breakers. The new equipment prevents emergencies and automatically disconnects electrical circuits under load. Similar measures will be carried out at the Ken-Suu, Mayak, Bosharino and Enilchek substations in the future.
The Issyk-Kul Electric Networks substation service maintains 61 substations in the region with voltages ranging from 35 kV to 220 kV.

Since the beginning of the year, 3,900 pieces of equipment have been serviced at 50 substations, and 268 devices have been repaired at 36 substations.

All technical measures are aimed at ensuring the stable operation of the power system during the autumn-winter period of increased consumption. The work is being carried out systematically and on schedule.
