A rating of the best secondary vocational education institutions has been compiled

For the first time in the country, a national ranking of secondary vocational education institutions has been published.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and heads of secondary vocational education institutions.

The aim of the ranking is to improve the competitiveness and quality of secondary vocational education institutions. This initiative was implemented in three stages from 10 November 2024 to 21 May 2025.

Ainura Israilova, Head of the Department of Higher, Secondary Vocational and Postgraduate Education at the Ministry of Education and Science, spoke about the ranking.

«The rating work is included in the ministry's official plan for 2022. Its main goal is to prepare our higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for participation in international ratings. In 2024, the first national rating of higher vocational education institutions was released. This year, with the support of the independent Institute for Accreditation, Rating and Certification, the first rating of secondary vocational education institutions was carried out. Now, based on the results of the rating, we can determine in which areas we need to develop, where we are lagging behind, and which aspects need to be improved», — she said.

A total of 54 educational institutions took part in the rating.

The results were as follows: first place went to the Industrial and Pedagogical College of Osh State University, second place to the College of Jalal-Abad State University, and third place to the College of the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Razzakov.

Regarding the success of the Industrial and Pedagogical College of Osh State University, which took first place in the ranking, Chingizbek Mamazhakyp uulu, director of the university's department of vocational education and training, said the following:
 

«It is gratifying that three of our six colleges are among the top six. In particular, the fact that our Industrial and Pedagogical College has taken the leading position is a great success achieved with the support of the general public and the university administration. The special status granted to us, our work carried out in accordance with criteria such as strengthening the material and technical base, improving the educational process, working with partners, and improving living conditions for students, have led to this result», — he said.
