08/06/2025, 09:50At the end of 2024, construction accounted for 8–8.3% of GDP, allowing the industry to rank fourth in the country's economic structure. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev at a meeting of the Ministry of Construction on August 5.
The meeting summarized the development of the construction sector for 2021–2025 and discussed key achievements and existing problems. During this period, over KGS 170 billion was allocated to the industry, which allowed for the completion of 967 social facilities. According to the Eurasian Economic Commission, in 2024, the construction sector in Kyrgyzstan showed growth of 31.1%.
The meeting identified the following priority tasks: reducing the time required to issue permits, cutting red tape, strengthening control over construction work, upgrading housing and utilities infrastructure, revising the regulatory and technical framework, and improving the calculation of estimated costs for the construction of state and municipal facilities.
