This issue was discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and the company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Beshir Ugur.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the parties reviewed prospects for investment cooperation, including the possibility of implementing joint projects to develop regional infrastructure. The discussion focused on the design and construction of social facilities.
Beta’s interest in infrastructure projects appears unusual, as the company is known primarily as one of the largest international tea producers. Founded in Turkey in 1978, it now has production facilities in several countries, including Kyrgyzstan, where it operates a tea packaging plant.
The official statement does not specify exactly which facilities may be built, in which regions the projects are planned, or whether the company will be investing on its own or through a partnership with the government.
