Turkic countries agree on common standards for agro-exports

At the IV Turkic Agroforum, which takes place on June 26 in Issyk-Kul, the countries of the Organization of Turkic States agreed to focus on the development of organic agriculture. Agriculture Minister Bakyt Torobaev said.

“Organic farming is not just an alternative, but an important tool for sustainable development, food security and protection of public health,” he emphasized.

According to Torobayev, reducing dependence on chemicals and increasing climate resilience of agro-systems will also be a priority.

Ministers from the OTG countries also agreed to strengthen scientific and technical potential, develop regional co-operation and exchange of experience, and harmonize standards and certification to reach foreign markets.

The Forum brought together delegations from the agrarian departments of the Turkic countries to discuss joint solutions in agriculture and food security.
