    Grain harvest exceeded last year's figures by 33.7 thousand hectares

    As of 11 August 2025, grain harvesting in Kyrgyzstan was 50.1% complete, covering 340,100 hectares, which is 33,700 hectares more than last year.

    Wheat remains the leader in harvesting: 190.8 thousand hectares (77.1%) have been harvested out of 247.6 thousand hectares, with a gross yield of 397.1 thousand tonnes. Barley has been harvested from 149.2 thousand hectares (59.9%), which is 6.5 thousand hectares more than in 2024, with a yield of 240.6 thousand tonnes.

    Corn harvesting has started in the Osh region, with 279 tonnes already harvested from 52 hectares, and a total harvest of 111,600 hectares planned for 2025. In addition, the harvest of vegetables, melons and potatoes continues in several regions of the country, including the Osh, Jalal-Abad, Chui, Batken and Issyk-Kul regions.

    Potatoes have been harvested from 12.7 thousand hectares, with a gross harvest of 205.7 thousand tonnes and an average yield of 162.2 centners per hectare, with a total sown area of 64.6 thousand hectares. Melons and gourds have been harvested from an area of 10.28 thousand hectares, with a harvest of 255.8 thousand tonnes. Vegetables are being harvested from 23.1 thousand hectares, with a total gross harvest of 580.8 thousand tonnes.
