The bulk of garlic in Kyrgyzstan is produced in the private sector - in farms up to 1 hectare. But there are several enterprises in Kyrgyzstan specialising in industrial garlic production.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry specifies that garlic is native to Central Asia and there are indigenous varieties in Kyrgyzstan. Our high-altitude climate is well suited for garlic cultivation. Kyrgyz farmers can supply both the domestic market and also develop exports to other countries.
