02/10/2026, 13:00The Republican Prosthetic and Orthopedic Institution continues its systematic work to provide citizens with disabilities with modern and high-quality prosthetic and orthopedic devices and mobility aids.
Last year, 11,500 people received services for the manufacture and repair of prosthetic and orthopedic devices, as well as other individual mobility aids, which is 7% more than in 2024 (10,700 people).
A total of 123 million KGS was allocated to finance the institution's activities, which is 10% more than last year (111.8 million KGS). The increase in funding has made it possible to expand the coverage of service recipients and introduce new technologies in the field of prosthetics.
Active work is currently underway to modernize production within the allocated budget of 97.8 million KGS. In accordance with the Law “On Public Procurement,” relevant contracts have been concluded, modern equipment that meets international standards is being supplied, and training of employees to work on new machines has been organized.
Work is also underway to develop and improve new models of orthopedic shoes and modern types of upper and lower limb prostheses using advanced technologies and taking into account the individual needs of patients. For the first time, prosthetists have manufactured the modern active traction prosthesis “Kibi” and the bionic ‘Indi’ from the company “Motorika,” a Skolkovo resident, which produces prosthetic arms for children.
Between 2023 and 2025, a total of 34 children were fitted with Kibi and Indi prosthetic hands, with 76% of these devices financed by the republican budget.
In addition, as part of a memorandum of cooperation, collaboration is underway with the FabLab laboratory of the Republic of Korea in Bishkek. As a result of this cooperation, two adult citizens were provided with electronic prosthetic arms.
