A new livestock market, Altyn-Kazyk, has opened in Bishkek

At the opening of the new market, Bakyt Torobaev, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, noted that the market began operating in accordance with a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, as the livestock markets and slaughterhouses previously operating in the capital did not meet sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

The Altyn-Kazyk market was built in accordance with modern standards: special plastic pallets were purchased for keeping small cattle.

In addition, there is a veterinary station, an isolation ward, a prayer room, a canteen, and a slaughterhouse designed to slaughter 200 head of cattle and 300 head of small livestock per day.

The Bishkek City Council has announced that the Zhantay, Prigorodny, Eski Tolchok and Narboto markets will now be moved to the new site, and around 20 slaughterhouses that do not meet the requirements will be closed.

According to the administration, the total area of the new market is 4 hectares, with covered areas for 1,520 small livestock and 600 cattle. In addition, on Saturdays and Sundays, there will be a spacious area for farmers bringing livestock for sale.

In total, more than 200 million soms were spent on the project.
