Five schools and seven additional buildings for educational institutions will be built in Bishkek

At a meeting of the Housing and Communal Services Committee, deputies reviewed and adopted a bill ‘On the ratification of a loan agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the Saudi Development Fund for the project “Construction of State Schools” Phase 2’.

The information was presented by Talantbek Imanakun uulu, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utilities.

He said that the project envisages attracting 187.5 million Saudi riyals, equivalent to $50 million, for a period of 25 years, 5 of which are a grace period, with an annual interest rate of 1.5%.

"The loan funds will be used to build five new schools and seven additional school buildings in Bishkek, as well as two new schools in the Chui region, with a capacity of 150 to 1,000 students. The project is scheduled to start in 2026 and be completed in 2029, with two years for construction and one year for the warranty period", — the speaker said.

He also added that to date, the first phase of the ‘Construction of State Schools’ project, phase 1, financed by the Saudi Development Fund, has been successfully completed. As part of this phase, 30 educational institutions have been built throughout the country at a total cost of $30 million.
