07/16/2025, 10:16A meeting was held at the Bishkek City Hall between Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev and a delegation from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of the People's Republic of China, led by Mr. He Zhongyu, Deputy Secretary of the XUAR Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Commissioner of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
During the talks, the parties noted the stable nature of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, which are based on the principles of mutual trust, good neighbourliness and long-standing partnership. Particular attention was paid to strengthening inter-city cooperation, in particular between Bishkek and Urumqi.
Aibek Junushaliyev confirmed Bishkek's readiness to expand cooperation with the regions of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region within the framework of joint projects in the fields of transport, housing and communal services, urban development and sustainable development technologies. He stressed that Bishkek is interested in attracting investment in the city's infrastructure.
The Chinese side expressed interest in strengthening trade and economic ties, primarily in the field of agriculture, including drip irrigation technologies, the development of nurseries and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to constructive dialogue and the development of practical cooperation aimed at improving living conditions and sustainable development.
