Funding for the Ministry of Emergency Situations doubled in Bishkek

Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev handed over new specialised vehicles and equipment to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the capital. The upgrade is part of a programme to improve the city's security.

While in 2023, approximately 5 million KGS were allocated to the capital's EMERCOM division, over the past two years, the amount has doubled to 10 million KGS. This is one of the most significant increases in support for rescue services in recent years.

According to the mayor, strengthening the material and technical base is not a formality, but a necessity. New technology and equipment should reduce response times to emergencies and increase the efficiency of rescue workers.

Safety work is being carried out systematically. Last year, the banks of rivers in the capital were reinforced, a 50,000 cubic metre dam was built in the Mankazhar gorge, and modern rescue equipment was purchased.
