01/28/2026, 10:19New lighting poles for parks and highways selected in Bishkek
A large-scale upgrade of the outdoor lighting system is planned in Bishkek. During an on-site inspection of the municipal enterprise Bishkek Svet, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev approved a design for new street lighting poles manufactured in China with a height of 8.5 metres.
The selected poles are already in use on Molodoy Gvardii Boulevard, on the section from Bokonbaev Street to Zhibek Zholu Avenue, and have proven to be stable and suitable for urban conditions. According to the mayor, priority will be given to lighting parks, squares and places where large numbers of citizens gather.
Also, as part of the inspection of urban areas, Aibek Junushaliyev instructed to create conditions for the further installation of lighting poles on Vasilyevsky Tract. To this end, sanitary pruning of trees, cleaning of the kerb area and preparation of infrastructure are being carried out. Sixty employees of the municipal enterprises Bishkekzelenstroy and Tazalyk are involved in the project.
The mayor emphasised that high-quality street lighting directly affects the safety, comfort and appearance of the capital and must be taken into account in the implementation of all infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction and the development of new streets.
