02/26/2026, 09:11During operational search and investigative activities, employees of the State Committee for National Security detained a man born in 1978 while attempting to give a bribe.
According to the agency, the man gave an SCNS employee two gold bars weighing a total of 200 grams as an illegal reward.
According to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic's exchange rate on February 26, this is equivalent to 2 million 932.75 KGS or $33.5 thousand.
It is believed that the bribe was intended to secure a favorable decision in a criminal case under investigation. The transfer was documented in accordance with the law, after which the suspect was detained.
The man is currently being held in the GKNB temporary detention center. The relevant investigative and operational measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are continuing.
