04/10/2025, 11:20Kyrgyzstan plans to increase the number of agricultural co-operatives to 1,165 by 2030. This was reported by the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture Mukhtar Chynaliev. To date, 741 co-operatives have been registered in the country.
Sixteen credit products are already in place to support the agricultural sector as a whole. At the same time, a separate favourable credit product has been developed specifically for associations of agricultural producers to stimulate co-operation and consolidate production, which is especially important in Kyrgyzstan.
The country will also develop the processing industry. Currently, only about 5% of agricultural products are processed, but by 2030 this figure is planned to increase to 50%. In addition, the number of trade and logistics centres should increase from 31 to 51.
All these measures are being implemented within the framework of President Sadyr Zhaparov's decree ‘On measures for further development of the agro-industrial complex of the Kyrgyz Republic’, signed in the summer of 2024.
The document covers five key areas: water resources, fertilisers, fodder and breeding materials, processing, logistics, MTS and cooperation, export, science, education and expertise.
