The gap in working hours is primarily related to the structure of employment. Women are more likely to work in sectors where the law provides for a reduced working week. These are primarily healthcare and education, where a significant proportion of the workforce are women.
At the same time, men predominate in sectors with a full or increased workload, which accounts for the difference in working hours recorded by statistics.
