Tax incentives for the creative industries were discussed in Kyrgyzstan

A meeting was held in Bishkek to explain the tax changes to representatives of the creative sector. Almambet Shykmamatov, Head of the State Tax Service, took part in the discussion.

The main topic of the meeting was the new tax measures, their objectives and their impact on the development of the creative industries. Participants also discussed possible measures to support the sector, including tax holidays and business incentives.

Particular attention was paid to the activities of bloggers. According to Shykmamatov, one of the most conscientious taxpayers in this field is Ydyris Isakov.

The Head of the Tax Service emphasised that information regarding citizens’ income and tax payments is subject to tax confidentiality. He clarified, however, that Isakov had given his consent for his case to be cited as an example in the context of this public discussion.

The discussion took place against the backdrop of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve tax policy and create favourable conditions for the development of the creative economy in Kyrgyzstan.
