11/19/2025, 14:45According to data from the National Statistical Committee for 2024, 2.7 million people were employed in Kyrgyzstan. Of these, about 680,000 had higher professional education, and almost 1.3 million people had secondary (complete) general education.
The highest concentration of workers with higher education was observed in such areas as education (162,000 people), public administration (68,000), and information technology and communications (26,000).
Agriculture, forestry, and fishing remained the largest sector in terms of the number of employees—432,400 people, with the majority of workers having secondary or basic general education. Manufacturing employs 305,000 people.
Trade and transport are also worth noting: 428,400 people worked in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair, of whom 75,000 had higher education, and 259,000 people worked in transport.
