10/25/2025, 18:00Today, October 25, the Eurasian Development Bank's branded auditorium was inaugurated at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The initiative was implemented jointly with the Public-Private Partnership Center.
The auditorium was created as part of the EDB's technical assistance project to develop the institutional environment for PPPs in Kyrgyzstan. The goal is to develop professional competencies in the field of investment analysis and PPP project management, as well as to form an expert community capable of promoting modern models of interaction between the state and business.
The new space is equipped with multimedia technology and decorated in the corporate style of the EDB and the KRSU. It will host lectures, seminars, project sessions, and conferences on issues of public-private partnership, as well as integration processes within the Eurasian space.
“This is a symbolic and significant stage in the development of cooperation between educational and financial institutions,” said Nurlan Akmatov, EDB Director for the Kyrgyz Republic. "The project helps to combine knowledge with practice and prepare specialists who are ready to participate in real PPP projects. The energy and ambition of young professionals will drive the country's sustainable economic development."
Svetlana Maslova, EDB PPP Project Director, emphasized that similar initiatives are being implemented in other countries, including Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
“We see that such projects form the basis for future integration cooperation in the field of PPP. Yerevan's experience has demonstrated the effectiveness of this model, and now we are scaling up best practices in the region,” she said.
Nurbek Anarbekov, Director of the PPP Center at the National Investment Agency and a graduate of KSU, noted that such projects open up new opportunities for students.
“Returning to my alma mater, I see how it is changing. Such projects underscore the high level of trust in our university,” Anarbekov added.
KRSU Vice Rector for Research Evgeny Shekunov added that the opening of the EDB auditorium reflects the university's strategy for modernization and innovative development.
“KSU is becoming a platform where education, science, and business meet. This cooperation stimulates new ideas and research that respond to the challenges of the modern economy,” concluded Evgeny Shekunov.
